I used to work the call center for Lane Bryant catalog and we would often get calls from the Las Vegas Drag Shows, looking to replace a whole revue's worth of shoes for a season.
Very nice guys for the most part, but all of them wearing upwards of size 10 women's. If you need bigger shoes, I do recommend the catalog, not the store.

Are four inch heels comfortable for anyone?

Yup; I have a pair of four inch platform boots that are extremely comfortable. So comfortable, in fact, that I regularly wear them to go shopping in.

No, I don't need the extra height; I'm 5ft 9in in flats. I just love platform boots.

Ah, now platforms are a different story, because your foot generally isn't contorted into a strange position. My problem with most heels is the extra weight forced on the balls of my feet (like most somewhat overweight people, I put most of my weight on my heels) and my toes being shoved into a place not wide enough for them.

But then, I've never really been a shoe person....

There is one in DC...either it was DC or Washington state, never had the family memeber talking about it clarify. I also know that one of my coworkers had feet wide enough that she has special order shoes that are for trans... Some of them are tre cute and some are of the 'Why did you get that?!'

Are you thinking of Babes in Toyland in Seattle WA? They have quite a selection of tran shoes upstairs.
