One thing I can not stand are people who bitch & bitch but won't let us help them. This little ditty was forwarded to me from the shift ahead of me.
Guest calls down. Says she is upset because she doesn't like the view from her room (Quite common a complaint, but the area in Montana here is more like a hilly tundra. It's dry. Also, there are mountains to the south of us, but they are far enough away to be convered by clouds, hills, and whatever can be in the atmosphere on most days. We are in the largest town in Montana...so it's a city techincally. On all sides of us are buildings. But people still want a view, and we try to comply as much as possible.). So, the ladies at the desk offer to move her to a room with more of a view. Right now she is overlooking the side of our building that faces a construction equipment site. This guest, refuses & says "I will deal with it."
Shortly after this, guest calls down & says the lightbulb in her bathroom is flickering on & off. This time of night (around 6pm) we don't have maintenance on duty. Dumb, I know, but the hotel has to save money sometime. So, the girls ask the lady once again if she would like to move. She refuses and asks for a manager (at 6pm, honestly lady? Our manager is also suffering from the flu right now so yeah...), then she lets out this gem, "Okay well I will just keeping adding it up and speak with a manager tomorrow."
Okay she will prolly get her money back. BUT the reason we carry a 100% Garantee is to fix things, not JUST give people their money back & claim they will never stay here again. It's a redemption idea to show we want their stay to be ideal. But, more often then not to we get people like this... bitchbitchbitch, I want my money back & this hotel sucks!
