Got two of them in a row first thing this morning.
SC # 1 was a decietfully sweet looking old lady. She was nice at first and her
total was high so I thought to myself, what they hey, I'm going to give her 15% off the packaging cost.
Me: Your total comes to $$xx.xx
SC: Oh, well why is it so much higher than the last thing I sent? Its the same address.
Me: here we go. Oh, well this time you had to buy a box, did you have to buy one last time? Also it might be a bigger or heavier package than the one you sent before.
SC: **goes on a tirade about the detailed contents of her last box and how its questionable that its "so much higher" than last time (so much higher being about $3 as far as I can tell) and how she is going home to find her reciept and bring it in and show me how right she is and how wrong I am.**
What is it about the way old people can look at you that makes you feel horrible like you are ripping them off even when you just gave them a discount? Why can't I just learn my lesson and stop being nice? It always backfires.
Ok then this:
My manager, who is a talker, calls from the other store. I'm on the phone with her when this jackass walks in.
Me: (to manager) "Haha yep.... cool, ok I have to go a customer just walked in."
(she keeps talking.)
Me: "Hehe, cool. Yep. Yep. Ok I have a customer I'll call you back."
(she says bye and hangs up)
SC: **all pissy** "Yeah, don't you hate it when your personal calls get inturrupted by a customer?"
Me: "....uh, that was my manager."
SC: "It sounded like a pretty personal call to me."
Me: "We are on good terms?"
SC: "Whatever. I need the address to the FedEx office."
(our competitor, lol)
