    sorry for going completely

and forgive me for this, but I'm going off of very little sleep, but does anyone else find it amusing that thehippie is always asked if Paris is her boss, then the person who responds right after her has the job title "spanking Paris Hilton"

oh and on topic, how I despise parents who will do stuff like that... I'll admit that my mother wasn't the best parent (hell she'll admit it), but she would never dream of leaving me alone for over an hour an a hotel room at that age... it is one thing to do that at home where the kid is comfortable and knows what is going on (my mother would frequently leave me alone at home to run to 7-11 to get milk, etc) but out of the comfort zone I was never alone for longer than it took to use the bathroom.

My folks would often leave me for several hours at a time, in hotels, at home... Thing is, I knew how to contact them if need be (Yes, even at six I understood the concept of a cell phone, and how to dial my father's number... Even with the area code!) and I knew how to work the TV and Video Games. I could always keep myself entertained sitting in one spot. I think I turned out fine.

Then again, I do remember my mother always being a bit hesitant to leave me alone, and it probably wasn't much help that by the time I was six I was already spending all my time with friends and gaming, and only really showing myself with my family around meal times. They may have just figured 'he's going to entertain himself anyway, we may as well entertain ourselves.'
