A cop comes up to me in the library, and she has her arms full of books that look like they came from the 2nd floor.
WD=Welcome Desk
Cop: where are the audio?
Me: Audio is around the corner
(note: there is a huge sign that says "audiobooks, cds, dvds", so she can't miss it.)
Cop: *kind of turns around and tells me something that makes me think I didn't understand her question, and says it with an attitude*
Me: You did say audio, right?
Cop: I can't find the audiobook, can someone help me *attitude*.
(note: I am to understand that "someone" means "you". Why didn't she then say, Can you help me?")
(note the second: I'm at the Welcome Desk. They don't like it that the one person stationed at the WD leave the WD alone. Because then people will walk in and then complain to the mayor how there's no librarians in the library
)
Me: There is a woman around the corner, she can help you to find the audiobooks.
Now the cop goes to the checkout desk, which is in the lobby as the WD is. Luckily we arnt' busy but she gets one of the check-out people to go help her look for the audiobook.
I guess what makes her sucky is her tone of voice. And she really didn't make her self clear, just was passive aggressive. As I stated, saying "can someone help me?" instead of "Can you help me?" and saying, "I can't find the audiobook" when all she did was turn around, maybe spy where the 2 shelves of audiobooks where, and decided it would be a Herculean task to look for the audio book on those 2 shelves. And did I mention the attitude tone of voice?
Also, she asked for the "audio" so either she means the CDs or audiobooks. Maybe she assumed I didn't know what I was talking about because I used the same term she used.
