Ugh! When I was reading your post, I figured some SC was trying to get you to leave her phone service on and using her personal life as an excuse! I mean, not that it would make the situation any better....but using your personal life as an excuse to get her cable service left on?!?!?!?!?!?!???????? Nuh-uh, that doesn't fly with me! You don't NEED cable. Actually, you don't NEED a phone, but I can understand that more than I can understand cable.

When I had personal issues, I did without cable. I hated it - but I couldn't afford it and rather than act like an asshat, I just accepted my fate and dealt with it until I could turn my cable back on...three months later. Guess what? I LIVED!

I kiiiiiinda used this once when I called my CC companies to have my interest rates lowered. I didn't state I deserved sympathy, but I called hoping they'd have some.
They did. 5% less interest on each card.
