A little background here...
Around spring time the (natural) gas company installed new lines along the road where I work. It was on the other side of the road BUT they did it fast. They tore up the sidewalk and put the new line down and kept going and behind them they laid new sidewalk. Took them about a month to go the 2 miles.
Then the middle of summer the water company started putting in a new line but on OUR side of the street. They tore up the sidewalks and put down GRAVEL as they went. They are now 2 months behind according to PENNDOT. They are just now putting the sidewalks in. They took so long that PENNDOT canceled the repaving of the road until next spring.
So they started putting in our sidewalk and entrances last week. They only got the one off the main road to were people can use it. The other one has a major drop off and hole between our lot and the sidewalk/entrance. The other they filled the hole in with dirt and gravel. We have 3, two off the main road and one off the side street.
Last week we had ONE, the one off the side street. We had it set that people came in that way and then had to exit between our building and the place next door. Now this way is tight, you can drive through but theres only room for the car and a car door if you opened it. Bigger cars/trucks had to back out. We put up a sign telling people that was the way to exit and we placed trash cans in front of the door and half way between the temp exit so people would NOT try and park there.
So it was like this.. Main street-gravel/new sidewalk-space for one car-pumps-space for one car-trashcan-our building.. if you can picture that.
We do our SC's do? They pull around the trash cans and park blocking the exit. When told they can NOT park there they got real nasty and start cussing and still head for the door to come into the store. When told to move the car or they couldnt buy anything they
would get even madder and yell that we had just lost a sale! Yeah like we want your $4 cigareete sale and dont want the $100's we could have been getting if the pumps were not blocked because people couldnt leave because you had to block the exit.
I could see it if there was no parking but there is plenty on the side and the back.. USE IT and stop being lazy, you wont die walking the extra few feet to the door.
I made a crude drawing and uploaded it... Hope it makes this clearer... Doubt it lol
