Yep, well there could be more than just us four- edible said in a mobile text- (hes working the night shift tonight the poor guy) when I told him he had forgotten to mention me, that he only mentioned of those that have replied to this thread- so theres a possiblity itd be more than us four

Though I do agree with you! Speaking of bakery products at work- Edible had also been tormenting me tonight via texts once again with descriptions of the yummy pies that theyre selling at his work hes certainly a lucky guy to work there where those yummy pies are hehe! I dont work in retail, would love to, but can see my deafness as an deterrant for any customers/employers but have sighted a few SC's over the years or seen the damage SC's have done to retail workers hence I rarely post if at all Edible will be making a post later, possibly tomorrow about his shift tonight- so far theres lots of SC's out at the moment.

aha! but there are shops that id love to work in, i.e game shops, bodyshops etc, would be more than worth it if I could work in a game shop but I do see its hard to work in retail and not always enjoy it- afterall, I get stories from edible hat firsthand whenever a SC crosses his path...

Now when you say game shops, are we talking EB, Berlin wall, or are we talking game wizards, games workshop?

Hmm it's a toss up, either EB or games quest or infinity games or..... heck, ANY games shop! (I'm the card games co-ordinator for the local games club this year actually - was video games co-ordinator last year)

Yes theres some games clubs that I'm aware of, one being the UniSAGA (thats my group) and there was a hobby/gaming convention, not sure if that will be on this year. Hasnt Edible Hat been informing you? so slack of him.....

And several card games- we boast a variety of card games such as the card version of cluedo, blank while cards, Fluxx (and its spin off, Monty Phyton Fluxx- not a fan of both fluxx games to be honsent -_-), and plenty more! we also have video games, DnD, board games.... etc!

Of course you can! The Ashkenazim have been doing it for generations. It's called chrain (for an approximate pronunciation, make a Scots ch and say the name of the River Rhine) -- and it's just the thing to go with gefilte fish.
Well, I know what *I'M* growing next season.

                  Hmmm - Darwin... wiki entry

I suggest looking at the bit on the right - where it lists ave. MIN temp (say, in mid winter, and the coldest it's ever going to get!) as being 23.2C / 70F... and ave MAX temps of 32C/90F... that's the average - doesn't indicate the high 30's+ that it will hit every so often.

Not to mention average humidity is pretty high.

Check out the bit on climate, and the graph there.

So - going from Nova Scotia.. yeah, I think you'll notice it... it doesn't get cold (or dry).*

Darwin gets a cyclone, oh, about a couple a season....

Oh, and yes, it is miles from anywhere, so don't expect to be seeing any of your favourite bands any time soon - Darwin always misses out (unless it's an Aussie band...)

But... you do have immediate access to Kakadu! And not that far from the Daintree... (bit of a flight, though.) Oh, and the Kimberley's. And Broome (for the dolphins)... and crocs. And lots of Barramundi!!

Now, if you came a bit further south (and, preferably, east) things would be great

                  Doesn't beetroot go with everything????

                  * I admit, I only just googled NS, and found how warm it can get... I am surprised!! The cold didn't, though
Cheese, Darwin sounds a lot like the west coast of Canada where I grew up. Except for being incredibly far from everything. I don't care if I can't see my favorite bands, I don't go to concerts anyway (because I can't stand being in a crowd of people, due to too much noise and too little bathing on the part of some).

Yeah, NS gets pretty warm in the summer, which I could tolerate if it weren't for the humidity. I don't know that Darwin is really an option anyway, but Perth or Melbourne have possibilities.

Like I said, I've wanted to move to Australia since I was a kid. I'm even willing to get used to beets on burgers if I must, so long as I can live somewhere warm and interesting and beer-loving.
