I once drove down to the local town and went shopping. Some time later, I was sat in the bus station when I realised the car was in the parking lot just behind me.

I'd only passed my test about a week before, so I think I can be forgiven for not being used to this...

Back when I was a student at Arizona State, there were times when I would park at the shopping center next to campus and walk over to my classes. This despite the clearly posted signs saying not to do this, that you could only park there if you were shopping. In my youthful arrogance, I ignored said signs. Then, one day, I came out to where I had parked my car....but there was no car there.

You know you are having a bad day when you are praying your car was towed. Because at least with that option, you are getting your car back. The other option did not hold the same promise. Luckily for me, my car HAD been towed, not stolen, and I did get it back, after being forced to lighten my wallet somewhat. And no, I never parked there again for class.
