    The only time Ive insisted on a booth is when we walked into a local place, the waitress said "sit were ever you'd like" and there were two places open. A 4 seater booth or a 4 person table, we choose the booth and she came over and told us to move to the table just incase a party of 4 came in.

      Wow. That's insane.

      I prefer booths, personally, but that's because I have issues with having my back exposed to the room. I'll happily take a table instead if you can give me one where my chair faces the room with my back to the wall. But if neither is possible, I will deal. MY social anxiety issues are mine, and not to be imposed on other people if there is any way to avoid it.
