This is the barista in me, and I am in NO way justifying her behaviour, I'm just curious: why couldn't you make it "less hot"?
The only thing I can think of is your lattes are coming out of machines where they're pre-made and you're not using an espresso machine and steaming the milk yourselves, in which case you could, in fact, make it more to someone's desired temperature.
The machine makes the coffees on it's own. It isn't premade like the ones in gas stations though. It grinds the beans for each individual cup and steams real milk on its own. All we do is push the buttons to tell it what it's making. The designers did not include a "less hot" button though.

      'Less hot."

What terrible grammar. And what a stupid woman.
You may have stylistic objections but there is no error in that phrase.

So, if she was 'Regional Manager', was that a test? or just a total wench? or just a total wench that likes to say those things thinking your nose would turn brown?

You know, its probably your fault that you didn't make it cool enough so she doesn't burn her face while talking on the cell phone driving in her car before she has to hit her brakes while sipping. What's your problem!

        Kidding

In any case, if asking for coffee, although I hate lava-temped drinks, nothing tastes better than a hot drink slightly cool to taste. That woman is an idiot who wants everything for now!

I'm not justifying her behavior either, but I get customers saying they don't want it too hot. Usually I just put cold milk in the hot drink.
