Ok, it's black Friday. I'm having to go cash my check, and head to Wal Mart. What can I say, cashing a check there is cheaper than at my bank.

There is a long line, as many people are unfortunate enough to have to cash their check. There is also a copy machine, where people can make copies of the local ads to whine that the price is better there...

As I am standing there, dutifully waiting, watching a little kid playing with his daddy who is also cashing his check this old bat is first behind me, then beside me, then moves in front of me.

D: Evil rotten bastard
AEW: Ancient entitlement whore, muttering like Milton Waddams
EM1: Employee 1, who has to suffer, with my sympathies.
WMG: Wal Mart Greeter, an attractive woman, the old one must be on break.

D: Excuse me, what are you doing?
AEW: I need these copies paid for.
D: Well, wait in line like everyone else. You were behind me.
AEW: I need to get these paid for so I can get the deals at best buy.
D: No, you wait, like everyone else has to.
AEW: But the line is so loooooooong..
D: No kidding. It's black friday. Everyone who thinks they can get the best deal is shopping. Wait your turn, and you'll be able to get your precious shopping done.
AEW: But I don't want to wait.
D: I don't want to either, but I will, and without trying to get in front of people.

AEW slinks off to Greeter, 5 feet away.

AEW: I need to pay for these.
WMG: Then you have to get to the cashier who is in the money department.
AEW: I need to get my shopping done. I don't want to miss anything.
WMG, Well this woman is the one who takes care of the copies. You'll have to speak to her.

AEW tries to return to cutting in front of me.

D: You were behind me, and now that you left, you need to get at the back of the line.(line is about 6 people longer, and I am 3rd to be served)
AEW: But I need to get these paid for, so I can get to best Buy.
(looks at the papers she copied, are several ads for Wal mart, Staples, etc)
D: (louder, forceful like scolding a child) Then you wait in line. Everyone is shopping. If you needed these done, you should have either done it earlier, OR made time to be patient for these deals. I do NOT want to be out here either since I have to deal with the likes of you. But I am here to cash my check, get my coffee supplies, and get home away from everyone. Now back to the end of the line.

AEW shuffles to the cashier, cutting someone off

AEW: I need to get these now.
EM1: Ma'am, you need to wait like everyone else.
AEW: But I don't want to wait.
EM1: I am very busy, I am sure if I ask this gentleman nicely(me), he may let you get this taken care of after this person.
AEW: But why can't you help me Nooowwwwwwwww???!!eleventy!
EM1: I am processing this check for this person. I can't stop once the check is being taken care of.
AEW: I want you to help me now, i don't want to wait. I have a lot of shopping to do. I need to get christmas gifts for people.
EM1(to me): Sir, I do appologize, but if you will, can you--
AEW: You need to help me now.
EM1: Ma'am, I have to finish this first
AEW: But I nee--
D: MA'AM! She said she needed to finish that. I was ABOUT to let you before me, but NO. You get to the back of the line and quit waisting our time here.

AEW looks at me pouting, then shuffles off to a different department

D: Sorry, but I work phone support. I have no tolerence for people. Had she shut up, I would have been nice since you asked. but not any longer.
EM1: Is there anything I can do for you?
D: Just cash my check when i get there. I just intend to get my coffee stuff, and head right home. the crowds are driving me buggy.

I'm surprised there wasn't a "hell NO" the moment she suggested you'd let her in.

Honestly people. "I don't want to wait" is not a valid reason. "I have kids in the car" might be. "My dying mother is waiting for me at home" might be. "I don't want to wait" is really, really, not going to get you any sympathies from the queue. For dog's sake, if you want to queue jump, make up a decent sounding lie!

i wouldn't have let her in, either; no excuse would have worked, not even kids/dogs in the car, which, if she did use as a reason, would have gotten her a nasty reminder about the dangers of doing something so foolish. (i have a serious problem with people who do either of these )

I wouldn't let her cut in front of me either. Not with an attitude like that.

Reminds me of an older fellow at behind me in line at the grocery store last year. I had maybe twenty things, and he only had a couple, so he asked me if I minded if he went first. I said no problem, and he says, "Great!" then wanders off for a second.

He returns with his wife, who has been waiting in another line with a cart FULL of groceries. He starts to go in front of me, probably thinking that I would be too shocked to say anything, but I decided I wasn't going to let him get away with it, so I said that I did mind after all, and started to unload my groceries.

He did the old, "But you said I could go first!" line, but I replied that it was when I thought that he only had one or two items. He hummed and hawed, but decided it wasn't worth the fight and waited his turn.

You have to wonder where some people get the nerve to assume that they're so much more important than everyone else, and they can get away with crap like that. EW to the max!
