Wow... that's less like dealing with someone looking to go on vacation, and more like dealing with a blank slate of a human being to whom someone mentioned this 'vacation' thing to, and now they're desperately in search of a definition.
Seriously how can you not have ANY ideas? If I had money and time to go on vacation, I know EXACTLY what I'd ask for:
Caribbean or Bahamas. Chartered sailboat, minimum 30 foot, no more than 40. Two week duration.
DONE. See how easy?
Of course, I actually know my way around a sailboat.Check out my webcomic!

heh I worked as a waitress at one of those "asian fusion" restaurants and we had quite a large list of sushi-related dishes.
so this one day i had these two older gentlemen come in for lunch. the first orders some teriyaki dish thing. the second says "id like some sushi." now for anyone who is familiar with sushi, you know "sushi" is a very open term and can refer to actual sushi, sashimi, or rolls (maki). you also know there is an endless assortment of sushi varieties and roll ingredients. so I say "well what specifically would you like?" and he replies with "i dunno, sushi." i try several times to get him to narrow himself down and point out our selection. he wouldn't even give me an idea of how much he wanted (we have full sushi meals, individual rolls, or 2pc alacarte orders). finally his friend gives me a sympathetic smile and says "hey man, why don't you try this sushi lunch thing here." so he agrees and give his buddy the biggest "thank you" eyes i can.
i understand that if you are new to sushi, you might not know where to start. but at least you could explain that and ask what might be good for a newbie.
gah.
