This thankfully didn't happen to me, but my co-worker told me that this lady came in and ordered a bunch of things and then she left. She came back I believe 45 minutes later and wanted her reciept. With our registers, we can't give you a reciept if an order has already been paid for from the registers. My co-worker said sorry she can't give her one. The lady got really mad and threatened to call the cops. She made my co-worker cry. Thank God I didn't handle her.

Threatened to call the cops for what? I think the cops have better things to do than to track down a receipt that some mean woman is demanding. -
There are absolutely times when people 'have' to have their receipt. Yes it was her responsiblity to ensure she had it before she left, but everyone is human and people forget.
Would it have been possible to do a return then re-ring the sale? I know it would have been a pain in the back side, but depending on the reason she 'had' to have her receipt, it may have saved her back side.

Yeah eventually she did do that. It's a pain in the arse though because then the resale would count as a real sale in the final readings for the day.Comment
