It is nearly finals time, the library will be extending hours because apperantly we're now a free hotel.
I hate the day lockers, students keep thinking they can keep those things forever.
While I'm happy for those who return them on time I find it rude when all they say is 'I rented this' and hand me the key. Okay, what do you want me to do? Throw you a parade?
We are not an office supply store, we do not have protractors. Yes, apperantly libraries are now supposed to have protractors ready for lending. We're also supposed to have handy dandy office supplies just to give to you, I don't know where the money for them is supposed to come from, probably out of the budget for student pay.
Incident log
A while ago the library set up the doors so after 9pm you can't get in without a university ID being slid into electronic locks much to the annoyance of the students. The problem is that they let people just walk in with them once they open the door. I've gotten in this way numerous times and I actually bring my ID anyway so you can see the flaw in this arrangement. We started doing this after people of a not so high caliber were coming in (eg. homeless people spending the night, pervs looking at porn on the public computer, a few complaints from female students about pervs looking at them)
Tonight 4 of our campus cops came in and escorted a man out of the building. He did not have ID and therefore should not have been here after 9pm. The lady officer who I'm on good terms with told me this, also he was looking at unsavory materials on the computer.
We are to kick him out if we see him again. He's been added to the list.
