People who use the "economy is bad" excuse

Lemme break it down for you in Canadian dollars.

These days, WoW runs on the computers people throw out on hard rubbish day.


The computer I'm writing this on cost AU$1000 in 2001. As soon as I have a spare $700 I'll buy the parts to build a replacement, and this one can become a PVR or something.

Due to the economy being bad . . .there was no money to pay me . . .ergo no job.
I am doing everything I can to find another job.
I know what I have in savings and how long it will last me.
I have mortgage payment, utilities, phone (land and mobile), internet, and satellite.
However, I am still able to pay these. . . in two more months if I still don't have work I will cut the satellite.
Mobile is important because I am getting temp day gigs here and there. I am able to answer calls about the possible next job and not lose out because I didn't reply quick enough. (I don't have a whole lot of bells and whistles on it)
Internet - able to job search into the wee hours of the morning from home and e-mail out my resume . . .answer questions . . .read on current local businesses.
I don't go out, and am single. Yes, reading is enjoyable and I can get movies/ books from the local library. My TV is my form of entertainment and helps me to maintain some level of escapisim and not go into depression.
I do realize that those things are luxuries. I also will cut them before it would effect my credit.
I have to agree with the OP that the entitlement that we are seeing at this point and time in history is becoming amazing.

(Oh and I have to have internet to have access to CS so I can write out these long posts to all of you . . .several of whom help me get through another day just by what they post)
