Being in the US, trust me, raising the drinking age by 3 years isnt gonna change a damn thing. They might be 21 but they are still gonna act like drunktards.
Like age 21 is so much more mature.

Plu-eeze . . . I've been to dinner parties where the over-40 hostess would get plastered and, after her mother (and mine) would try to get her to bed, come back out into the den (where we were having a good afterd-dinner conversation) and do something totally outrageus such as showing off the lingerie her BIL gave her for Christmas

So really, there's no age limit to drunks acting stupid.

Exactly. It was no different when my friend's sister turned 21, and she overdid it. It was partly his fault, he was trying to get her to do the "21 shots" thing, which is just plain stupid at any age.

At least he had the foresight to get her outside before she started to hurl.

I am infinitely amused when bloggers assume that we employees care about their blog. To those who have been on the internet for years, it's just freaking hy-larious. And what, exactly, is Mr Blog going to do against Mighty Mo The Megacorp?
Ah yes. The internet blog--giving voice to the voiceless while the rest of us hope they develop laryngitis.

There really is no difference between drunk 18 year olds and drunk 21 year olds. Hell, actually....there's really no difference between drunk 21 year olds and drunk 31 year olds.
There is one difference, the size of the hangover the next day.

In Belgium, the legal drinking age is 16 for beer and 18 for any other drinks (I sais legal drinking age, not the age they drink it) and it has worked fine for more than 2 decades. Lately though, there's a new phenomenon (it came from just over the border: Holland): it's called "coma-drinking".
I just don't see why you want to drink until you end up in the hospital? These kids are also 13-14 years old...

"No Kitteh, dis is mah pot pie! That's a bad kitteh!"

Seriously though, I don't think the drinking age is the problem...but rather, the idiots getting smashed in the first place.

For example, years ago, the drinking age in WV was 18. PA was (and still is) 21. At the time, my grandmother lived a few miles from the PA/WV border. Nearly every week, kids from PA would head down there, get plastered...and usually one or two would wreck their vehicles on the trip back. One summer, there was a wreck nearly every night on her road Then WV raised their drinking age to 21, and most of that stopped.

Didn't stop underage drinking though...that still occurred on the college campus and in private residences, but at least the stupidity of driving drunk 50+ miles back from the nearest big town (Morgantown, WV) was lessened.

Also, let's not forget that just as many drunk idiots are well over the legal age...and they too get out of control. Same town, nearly every week there are reports of idiots getting busted for DUI, drunk-and-disorderly, etc.

The pub where I went when I was at college used to keep students in the back bar and normals in the saloon bar. XD Also, the barman used to make anyone who threw up in the pub clean up their own vomit themselves.
