Lady: You just RUINED my Christmas! You're so SELFISH!! I hope your's gets ruined too!! (Leaves)
Actually, ma'am, there's a store open on Christmas that'll be more than happy to serve you. I'll even give you directions: 123 Eat Me Avenue, right at the intersection of Go Fuck Yourself Boulevard, near the vicinity of Kiss My Ass Street. Have a NICE day!

*snerk* I wish I could say that!

As I've said before, if this is all it takes to ruin Christmas, you're obviously Doing It Wrong.
I agree. How ridiculous that such a small thing can send someone over the edge and ruin their holiday. It's not like it's even that hard to bake a cake at home. Since it's "disgusting" to hold onto one for 4 days

Ah, this year I have not runied anyones christmas. Last year I did it by:
        - Selfishly and deliberately not ordering enough brazil nuts.
        - Deciding, in my all-powerful, running the company way, not to sell chestnuts.
        - Forcing 300 people to buy all our large packets of pistachio nuts, expressly to ruin this womans day.

I always think their lives must be wonderful, if this is the worst thing that has ever happened.

Our manager got told she ruined someones christmas.

Bacground- we have a lab on site. This means, as long as we have the lenses in stock, we can make up the glasses in about an hour and a half. If we don't- either we've run out, or you are one of the prescriptions we don't keep cause it's too high- we order the lenses in, and it will take up to five days to get the glasses in.

This man was a -7 prescription. We keep up to a -4 in, because -7 is not that common, and is a very high prescription. Added to that, he wanted the lenses thinned, which means we have to get special lenses in. This can take up to ten days, longer around christmas. Manger informs him of this. His wife, who is buying him the glasses as a christmas present, goes off on one about how stupid it is we don't keep lenses ins tock and now his christmas present is ruined because he won't have it on christmas day...

seriously. If you want to be certain of having your very expensive and complex order in, order it BEFORE the 19TH.

What is this insanity you speak of? Logic? There is no place for that in my small SC mind!

Translation: I don't care if YOUR Christmas is ruined, just as long as MINE is not. What a bitch
I would have told the bitch that, sure, we're open on Christmas Day. So there's no problem coming in for that cake.

See how far she gets complaining to management on 12/26 that you steered her wrong.

Well apparently I have ruined my families Christmas.
According to my MIL, I did that two years ago, by wanting my kids at home in the morning to open presents with me, instead of letting them spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at her house with the pack of psychotic relatives we don't admit to knowing.

This year, she didn't complain, but I refused to let her take the boys to Oregon for the whole week of Christmas.

How could they not know that? You don't get that sort of prescription overnight.

I have -7.45 and -8.00 and most of the time I plan two weeks to get some new glasses.

So I've ruined my first Christmas. I've joined the club. Are there any benefits to this club? Alcohol perhaps? The kind that's strong enough to down an elephant?
The benefit of joining this club is that you can see who truly ruined Christmas... and nine times out of ten it's the very person who is blaming you. Oh, and we do have booze and Christmas treats.

Well apparently I have ruined my families Christmas.
Now my Sister and her Husband have scheduled like 4 different gift openings with their kids. (I understand this . . .the kids are younger and all at once really does overwhelm that isn't the issue here)
So the opening on Dec 25 - I am chosing not to be at. I am over 30, no spouse, no kids, I want to sleep in.
The family is actually moving the holiday meal to dinner . . .vs early lunch so as not to mess with nap schedule.
I will be at the family dinner. . . . But, I am ruining the family Christmas for not being at the gift open fest.
They make it sound like you're the only thing that will keep it from falling into chaos.

So . . . I am adding my adults only cake to the ruining christmas party.
Make your absolute favorite chocolate cake. After cooled poke holes all over the top with forks. Take a delightful bottle of butterscotch schnopps (sp?) and pour over the cake . . .as much of it as the cake/ pan can hold . . .wait about 10 min and see if you can add more. After use butterscotch ice cream topping as icing and seal in. Use a cover that doesn't touch top and enjoy the next day.
*droooool* I am so making that when I get home...

I'm sure this SC's Christmas would not be ruined by a farking cake. A cake? Although I have no sympathy whatsoever for late holiday shoppers and poor planners, I could honestly see how an item being out of stock could 'ruin' a kid's xmas (simply because they won't get the item xmas morning, nothing more.) But a cake? This would NOT ruin the SC's xmas because it probably is not a gift! With that out of the way, this is how the conversation would've went if I was working:

Me: Oh, I'm sorry ma'am, but we're closed on Christmas. Would you like to pick it up on the 24th instead?
Lady: I NEED IT ON THE 25th!
Me: Are you off work on the 25th?
                        Lady: Um, yes...
Me: Your business is like this one...they ::gasp:: CLOSE on Christmas!
Lady: I am out of town until late the night before...
Me: Well if you can't get it on the 24th, then you can get cake mix from the supermarket and make your own damn cake. Your poor planning will not ruin MY Christmas!
                        Lady:
Me: Oh, and I'm sure you knew this place was closed before you even set foot in here.

::: Security walks up behind her and grabs her. :::

                        Me: Have a nice day!

My response to that is, "There's no cake shops in this area that are open Christmas day to pick up cakes. Oh, there's always Little Debbie... try the local gas station! Merry Christmas!"

                              Everybody keeps quoting this:

When this is the most egregious statement in this post:

                              Quoth Belari;469854c
Lady: Well you shouldn't get Christmas! None of you should!!
A statement like this simply unreal. People like this suck.
