Thought I should mention this. During my last days at Hechinger's, I had some black woman in a wheelchair call me the N-word. It all started as I was watering the plants displayed along the sidewalk. As usual, I had the garden hose out, and was nearly finished. Said woman was wheeling herself up the sidewalk, and started bitching about the hose.

Not waiting for me to move it, she decided to roll her chair over it...and promptly got hung up. Being the nice guy I am, I tried to give her a hand...but she had none of that. That's when she called me a "dumb N-word." When she said that, I was like I mean, the shock was staggering. Then she went said "didn't you hear me? I guess not, you dumb N-word."

At that point I lost it. I was leaving the job anyway, and had enough. I simply pointed out the obvious... "Ma'am, first off, I'm white. Second, you call me that again, I'm going to push your crippled ass out into to traffic." Probably not the best reaction, but she pissed me off. Sorry, but I don't take that racial shit from anyone, especially those who can't even use the right slurs

Surprisingly, store management didn't even talk to me about it. Even if they had, there wasn't really much they could have done...I was leaving for school anyway, and at that point, didn't care if I got fired.

Or maybe he is against affirmative action, or feels that other people don't like black people because black people take advantage of affirmative action...or maybe he replies "....because I'm BLACK??" to any question.

Today a girl that I work with told me that once she was going to help a customer load something into his truck when he said, "Do you think I need help loading it because I'm BLACK??" Um, okay then. It doesn't get any stupider than that.

"No, it's because you're a WOMAN. Ha, I see your race card and raise you the sexist card!" In all seriousness...I've heard many a racial slur, but NOTHING that insinuates black people are weak. I'm going to have to share that with my coworkers (who are mostly black and find stuff like this hilarious).
