In another thread, I mentioned these Lane recliners we got in and I was wondering how the hell we'd ever sell them, because they are ridiculously expensive.
Well wouldn't you know it, we sold three of them this weekend!
Actually, we sold the same one three times.
Actually, it came back three times because each time the customer said it was the wrong color and sent it back, and I don't think all three of them were able to get it in the right color.
So Yours Truly, in addition to his normal furniture-herding duties, was asked to figure out why the same recliner got carried out and returned three times this weekend.
I checked the SKUs written on the boxes, since the truck unloaders like to write the wrong skus on boxes frequently. There wasn't a problem there. The truck unloaders weren't even the ones who put the recliners away.
Next I checked the signing for the recliners, which has swatches of the upholstery on it because not all the recliners are on display. The leather swatch on the sign matched the leather on the recliner very closely, so that wasn't the issue.
I checked to make sure the pull tags were in the correct pockets, and they were.
So the only explanation to me is that three customers managed to grab the wrong pull tags this weekend, even though they are right next to the fabric swatches on the sign, so thus you kind of have to try to grab the wrong tag.
It isn't too often that customers grab the wrong pull tags, but three times in two days? There's a hole with no bottom.
