Okay, we all know CS does NOT approve of tampering with food. He requested no salt. Whether or not he was an asshole to you, you decided it was okay to change his order.

I routinely ask for no onions on my burgers, after an incident with an... eggs benedict, where I choked an onion right up my nose, now anytime I eat fresh onion, I get sick. No, seriously. I used to love fresh onion.

So you're saying it's okay to mess with someone's food, possibly causing them major health problems, just because they're an ass?

Personally I think that nasty customers deserve what they get but hey.
I'm all for stories of kharmic retribution, or stories where that's apparently the case. I've had people request sections for that. However, that would be tempting people to encourage kharma on its merry way, and that would risk the employment of members.

We have standards here. We're better than the SCs. If you do have some sort of measure you use to get your revenge, don't tell us and we won't ask.

EDITNOTE - this isn't singling out any one poster, more making a point for everyone on the board.

OK, let's go over this one more time. CS does *not* condone messing with someone's food. You don't know if someone requires no salt--and don't say "well fast food has lots of it." Suppose the person is oh, on the PA turnpike, and good food isn't exactly common? There are plenty of rest stops that only have fast food--there simply aren't any other options. Sure, the guy was an ass, but it doesn't justify possibly screwing up his health. Also, if they *can* complain, they probably will--is it worth risking your job over?

Mmmm....my own job has the added benefit that we are there to save lives. It goes without saying that I am not going to risk my life to save an SC's life by pulling them from a burning aircraft. When I see passengers ignoring the safety demo this gives me the hint that that passenger already knows exactly what to do and means I won't need to help them in an emergency so they are on their own. After all, why expect a flying waitress to help you in an emergency

I'm not condoning endangering the health of SC's but pointing out that I wouldn't go overboard in helping them. We were told in training that it's not worth the risk to us...I'd rather stay alive, SC's or no SC'S!

Not saying that I do this...but collegues of mine have had bags thrown at them by irate SC's and had them checked into different destinations. Very hard to trace the staff involved and easy to mistake as an accident on the staff members part. Others have included pointing out really horrible passengers to Customs...

Again, nothing that I have personally done but have witnessed.

It all sounds rather cynical but I generally expect the worst from people now.

Sorry to intrude, but I feel this bears repeating, particularly in light of the signature affixed to the end of the post. And this is now the 3rd mod warning in this thread...please stick to discussion of the OP or this party's over.

My mother would say about "people" like that, "Just go ahead and let them make complete asses out of themselves in public. You don't even have to do anything back to them. It'll just show you how stupid he really is and that people like that will eventually end up getting what's coming to them".

Exactly. They're doing just fine, they don't need our help.

Besides, it so much more fun killing them with kindness and making them work harder to be such asses.

And it won't get us in trouble with managment if we're sweet as pie.

eventually i hand out the meal minus the FRESH chips with the requested NO SALT ignored and replaced with EXTRA SALT, and i gave him a pepsi max even though there is a range.
                    *clap clap clap*

Way to stoop to the SC's level there. Aren't you proud of yourself?

The guy was a fucktrumpet to be sure, but that doesn't give you the right to intentionally screw with his order. Be fortunate he didn't complain to your manager--or hasn't--yet.
