I read somewhere once that "they" did a study and found traces of cocaine on every piece of paper money "they" tested. Never mind that there are DRUGS on your money.
No wonder everyone is addicted to money. We just can't get enough of it.

I have some customers that I kinda hate waiting on. They are real nice but just taking their money gives me the YUCK feeling.

One guy has big warts on the palms of his hands.
One guy has warts, boils, something... all over his body. I mean everywhere, ears, face, arms, neck, hands, fingers, all over.
One guy has thick dry skin all over, same as the guy above its everywhere...

One "lady" thats also a "street worker" keeps her money in her shoe.. its always wet and stinks! YUCK!

What I really hate is when they try to hand you money that has blood or even sh*t on it.. No F*CKING WAY! GET OUT! I had to threaten to beat the crap out of one guy because I wouldn't take his money that was covered in his blood. He was also bleeding from a cut on his hand and dripping blood on the floor!

Fortunately Australian money is polymer so it's not as dirty as most people think it is, but other than that....

I only ever use the work hand sanitizer if my hayfever is in hell mode, if I'm going from meat straight to chemicals and vice-versa, or if I pick up bloody meat.

I find that hand sanitizer will sting the wounds if I use it, I have cream and I wrap my hands in gladwrap at night and sleep like that.
Hand sanitizer is basically a gel form of rubbing alcohol, that's why it stings.

You can get cotton gloves to wear at night along with your cream. That would be better for your skin than wrapping them in plastic wrap.

OP - if you're really skeeved out by your customers, maybe you could wear sanitary gloves (like doctors/nurses use) while operating the cash register?

Winter is very hard on people with eczema and psoriasis, neither of which are a danger to anyone else. People need to be understanding, not critical of situations they have no control over.
It maybe so that some people can't help the scabs, scores and warts on their face. They at the least can stop licking their thumbs before handing you money.

I have psoriasis, and I am told it can go into remission. Might come back later, might not.

I really wish it would go away, just for awhile.
It can. I have psoriasis and it started out pretty light. It didn't get bad until a few years ago but Enbrel cleared both it and my arthritis about 90%. Huge difference.

I used to have bad exzema on my hands; grew out of it, lucky for me.

I also used to self harm really badly, and sometimes I had blood on my sleeves or on my socks. Hell knows what people made of that.

(no, I did not show off the wounds. I put plasters on them, then covered them up with sleeves or socks. However, if you knock a fresh cut, it will bleed no matter that it has a plaster on.)

Not entirely true, there's still the posibility of contamination if effected areas are weeping, OH&S is a pain.

And even if it is you can put it through the washing machine without damaging it.

I don't get that in Australia, people don't seem to realize that on a non-porous surface saliva acts as a lubricant, on a polymer note it just makes it slipprier.

that sort of thing is pretty much why I would never be able to get a job involving handling of food - my psoriasis isn't nearly as bad as it used to be, but according to my sister (who'd done research into getting a food-handler's license), even if I were to wear plastic gloves, I still wouldn't be allowed to work with food because of germ issues.

Yeah, that can be a problem, my experience comes from the other side though, as a massage therapist working on people with weepin sores and such is a big no-no.

I'm not familiar with the weeping of eczema but with psoriasis, the main concern with contamination is to the psoriasis sufferer. Bleeding, something that usually only affects a serious case, is something to be careful about when dealing with others but psoriasis is an autoimmune disease and someone with psoriasis has a far greater chance of becoming infected by others.
