I'm so glad I only have to deal with the state/sales tax! I hate it when people buy 12 pck of Cokes and wonder why their total is a little higher. Uh hello it's the sales tax. Then they start grumbling. Hey just be glad we don't have an income tax!

The local taxes take care of the fact Texas doesn't have income taxes.

I'm still going to pretend sales tax is 8.5% that way I have a few dollars left over at the end of the day.

Ya know, a lot of people (myself included) generally gets a big chunk of their income tax back come tax time (which is neigh, my friends! Tax-time is neigh! Hide your children and loved ones! This is going to be messy!)

No. I've moved on from my days in retail/waiting tables/bartending hell to doing Payroll (a whole new level of hell in itself). I've had to learn payroll laws for all 50 states plus Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
