The Barksdale Federal Credit Union at Ft. Polk, Louisiana had a $10 ATM outside and two $20 ATMs inside. At least they did back in 1991.

I think it's still common to get €20 and €10 notes from an ATM here.

Time was, IIRC, the machine would make sure you had a selection of notes whatever you withdrew. If you wanted £40, you could get a £20, a £10 and two £5 notes. But that of course assumes that you'll be using them in shops and that some of your purchases will be small. At that time, people would look sideways at you if you used a £20 to pay for a chocolate bar.

The ATM at my college gives out 10s, but until I encountered that one I'd never seen an ATM that did anything but 20s.

When I was in college, it wasn't unusual for my bank balance to dip pretty low (and stay there). The ATM on campus could dispense $5 bills. Sometimes I'd have an account balance around $4.20 or so. More than once, I'd go to the ATM, deposit $1 in the ATM envelope, so that I could then withdraw $5.

At the Hard Rock Casino outside Tampa, I used the ATM to get $100 and it gave me a $100 bill. I guess the hope was that I would insert the whole $100 into one game and gamble it away before I thought too much about it.

The ATM's for my Credit Union (Coastal) will dispense anything, including pennies. This is so you can cash any check without having to visit a branch.

You can't specifically ask, for say, $10 in quarters, but you can withdraw any arbitrary amount.

Wow. That's nice of them. When we were last in Ireland, the ATMs we used in Dublin and Ennis gave a variety of notes (the Ennis ATM was near a newsagent's so that's probably why).

Once upon a time my bank's ATM gave out $5 and $10 bills, but no more.

I think it depends on bank and location. The two on my college campus (a BB&T and a First Community) did 5s, but anywhere else I went BB&T only did 20s. I'm pretty sure all the First Community ATMs I've seen did 5s, though.

LOL....who gambles with ten dollars? Is he that broke he cant just take 20? Not only that but most ATM's elsewhere require 20 dollar increments. Ok so I have seen some where you can take out as little as 5 dollars but this is a casino for God's sake
