We have a group of regulars that are barred after 3pm. They come in as soon as we open and drink so much that we had to give them a going home time. They are never threatening, abusive or anything towards other customers, they just get very drunk and very irritating. They obey the 3pm curfew and leave without fuss.
It was my last shift
and it was nearing 3pm. I smell smoke. I go over.
Me: Right, which one of you is smoking?
All I hear is drunken ramblings.
Me: OK, I'm cutting you off early today. Make your way home.
SC: Mark! No Mark no! Please can we stay til 3pm??
My name is not Mark.
Me: No, home time now!
SC's: Awwww.
They drunkenly put their coats on and left. As the most irritating regular made his way to the door, an UNOPENED bottle of whiskey rolled out his pocket and across the floor. He didn't notice, and neither did anyone else. I went over and picked it up. A co-worker spotted me.
CW: Uhh...customersruinmylife, aren't you going to hand that back to him?
Me: I've been serving that idiot for three years...I figure he owes me.
