Phone conversations aren't worth the effort.
Me: "Newsroom."
SC: "Hi, I need to talk to whoever I was just talking to...we were talking and got cut off."
Me: "...okay, do you know the name of who you were speaking with?"
SC: "No...it was a lady in the sports department."
Me: *SCREECH* "Um...there's no one in sports right now-,"
SC: *immediately going from semi-pleasant to shrieking banshee* "YES THERE IS! I WAS JUST TALKING TO THEM!!"
Me: "Um, no, ma'am, they won't be in till three-,"
SC: "I WAS JUST TALKING TO A WOMAN IN SPORTS!!"
Me: "Ma'am, there are no women in our sports department."
SC: "YES THERE ARE! I WAS JUST TALKING TO ONE JUST NOW!!"
Me: *snap* "All right, hold on, ma'am, let me transfer you." *transfers call to the janitor's office, takes phone off hook* "Hey, *boss*, I'm going to go clean out the back room like you wanted me to!" *vamanos*
I'll probably get in trouble for that one later. Now I must flee before the phone rings back up here. This is going on my "practical joke scorecard" with my boss, heh heh.
