KK used to be the biggest thing around here. Then Tim Horton's invaded from the north. And now DD is started to make it's way into the area. KK is no longer open around here, and Tim Horton's is now selling their donuts at the convient stores around here instead of KK.

Quoth Irving Patrick Freleigh View PostI'm going to have to stop now before I start touching myself over freaking doughnuts.
He responds immediately with, "Because you could smell 'em," and gives the cop the box of donuts."I call murder on that!"

At one point, not too far distant, in my life, there were Starbucks EVERYWHERE. Now it appears that DD is going the same way.
Well, not here in Green Bay, because as Bella said, there does not seem to be any donut places, but you know what I'm getting at.Unseen but seeing
oh dear, now they're masquerading as sane-KiaKat

Rats run on Dunkin.
But seriously, they're all over like hell on Long Island. I wish there were Timmy Ho's out here though. Damn you companies that won't come out to where they could make money hand over fist (Wegmans, I'm talking to you too)Last edited by DerangedHermit; 02-09-2009, 06:26 PM.

Some people have a very hard time understanding that what's ubiquitous in their town might not be ubiquitous elsewhere. If this guy was in Nepal, he'd probably ask the Sherpas where the nearest Dunkin Donuts was, and get frustrated that there wasn't one right around the corner.
This state has no White Castle, no Long John Silver, no Popeye's. There have been threats that Krispy Kreme might make inroads here, in which case, dig my grave now, avoid the rush...
I bet this guy gets frustrated when he turns on the TV in a strange town: "Hey! All these channels are switched around!"

But they still have some locations down in Central Colorado so we win either way.Kangaroo Squee!

Having moved from the east coast, where there were tons of DDs, to a place where I have to drive 20 minutes (in the opposite direction of anything) to get my DD coffee (it's like crack!), I almost feel bad for the guy. Almost.
No KK in my area, funny enough. Just a local-ish chain that's ok, but has terrible coffee.

In Japan there are only three KK donuts that I know of. Two are in Tokyo and one I passed in Yokohama that was still in the process of being built. If you want to get some KK donuts in Tokyo, be prepared to wait. At least three hours in line. I don't want to wait that long so I'll stick to the norm out here in ol' Ibaraki, Mr. Donuts with it's cute mascots and delicious matcha (green tea) donuts and Rick Dees and the Weekly Top 40 every Sunday.
Meanwhile in my parents town... there's nothing. I think the DD/Baskin's combination store in the town north of theirs shut down."There is a sadist inside me. She likes cake." - Krys Wolf, my friend
