  • Wow finally a combo (very long)

    Alright this may run long since i had two stand out instances and a few wtf moments.

    *edit* holy cow this ran long >.<

    TV guy:
    This started yesterday and my co-worker may post this part on here as he has an account but essentially as the story goes he is a huge haggler. he managed to get a tv from 1000 to 450. Granted this TV was on discount and discontinued but still thats a major drop. He then puts it on hold and comes in today to pick it up and sends another co-worker to go get it and asks me to cover him in Home E.

    Enter the E man >.< (thats me!)

    At this point all i know is my co-worker went off to get a tv for this customer that he had on hold and it was a display model. He then asks me if there is no romote with the TV if he can get one for free. I tell him 'i can try and swing it but i will have to ask the people in this department' he seems fine with that and decided to return in a half hour with his family to pick it up. After he leaves i learn of what has already happened and managment tells me to NOT lower the price AT ALL or give ANYTHING else as he already has a fantastic deal.

    I end up covering Home E almost all night as my co-worker is under the weather. The man comes back and inquires about the romote and i tell him i cant do anything for him as far as free goes. He then tells me he called Acer and they would charge him 100$ for a new romote. I refrain from telling him that with all his money dsaved on this it should be no problem. He then asks me to ask a manager about the romote as he goes off to look at some romotes.

    I ask my manager passing by since i said i would even though i knew the answere. He said no this deal is at 450 and thats that and i agree. I tell the customer this and he seems to go along fine. He then says he will be back later with his son to look at it >.<

    Alruight so now his son comes in (around 20-30) and says '450 is all you can give us?' to which i responde with a 'yep' and he starts trying to haggle for awhile. I stand firm and dont budge. After a lot of this they finally decide to pay for it. As i am missing a sku for a 32" i ring it up as a 27" with a note about the on hand issue it may cause. He then whines about the recycle fee for a bit then pays. His son then notices i rang it up as a 27 and not a 32 and demands i phone other stores for the sku since we did it wrong.

    ten minutes later i finally find the sku on the other side of the city process the exchange and enjoy him looking confused.

    SC: why is it 5 dollers more?
    Me: A 27" has a 25 dollar recycling fee. A 32" has a 30 dollar fee

    The son then proceeds to inspect the TV making sure there is no marks or scratches. I almost hopes there would be so i could tell them no again to further discounts. Then they grab about 20 $7.99 movies from an area with an 'All movies 299-799' sign up and claim they are all 2.99. 5 minutes later they realize im not taking their shit today.

    they leave AGAIN and ask me to wrap it up since it is raining outside.

    I finally go on break after 2 hours of this and learn they asked my coworker for a free romote after i left. He didnt budge either and they finally left.

    Ok feel free to stop paying attention now or have a nap before story two. Mods feel free to seperate it into a seperate story if it runes way to long....

    Bed lady
    During my Home E stint a lady calls me for my major home fashions askingf since she saw an add running in the flyer that if you spend 1000+ on a mattress set you get a 75$ gift card. She wants to redeem it on her purchase from a month ago. I tell her i will ask a manager but i wont get my hopes up since it was a long time ago and i will call her back when i get a chance since im swamped tonight (dealing with TV guy). She asks if she can come in and i tell her she can do what she wants i still gotta OK it with a manager and cant guerentee it. After i hang up my manager happens to walk by and i ask him about it. He is cool with it and i think no biggie. Thats around when TV guy came back the 2nd time and i got super busy.

    Fast forward to my break and i get a call from the service desk about the lady saying she is here (yay). I cut my break short and go and look for the ad she had told me about since i didnt know how to process the 75$. I look in this weeks flyer and next weeks and last weeks and our newspaper add and phone another store. No one has heard of it. I call back to the service desk saying i will be a bit and it seemed cool. I ask a manager and HE hasnt heard of it either. So i get another call from the service desk and i can hear the lady screaming in the background. (remember this is the lady i told i was swamped and i also told her it may be better for her to come in tomorrow when i wasnt so busy) I decide to head out and i tell the manager i may call him in a minute or two.

    I get to the service desk and she whips out the ad.......FROM ANOTHER STORE. Granted we are associated but its a different chain from us. We sell kinda the same merch but its their flyer not ours. I tell her i can honor it on her purchase last month ins our store and she responds with this little exchange.

    Sc: Well where is your manager?
    Me: In the back.
    SC: and WHY cant I TALK to HIM!?
    me: You can if you want

    So i go get our manager and i leave him to deal with her. Eventually he caves couse she is screaming to much and crap and (i feel sorry for him from this) he has been a manager in our store for four days . We decide to just give her 75$ off her purchase so she cant try and get stuff from other stores.

    Customer leaves happy. I flip her the bird upon exit.

    Side note: This lady has made us change her order about 4 timers so far. Cant stand her.

    Few one liners from tonight if your feel like a wind down from that

    "Is a type D bag the same as a type F bag?'

    "I have a 4 belt will it work with a 7?"

    'E*** both your calls are on line 101 '

    'E*** you shouldnt quit what would we do without you!'

    That guy saved 55% on a $1000 tv and bitches about getting a free remote? What a cheap b******. You can get a universal remote for $5-$20; $1 at a dollar store if you wanna be even more of a cheap b******.

      Or you could get up and change the channel manually for free! Cheapest plan of all!

        yah we started to give him some lil attitude comments like 'well now you can get excersize while watching tv' and my comment TODAY when his other son came in to bitch about no romote was 'well with all the money you saved a romote will be chicken feed'

        also i would like to add tat not only was it my managers fourthish day but his FIRST EVER CLOSING SHIFT AT OUR STORE. poor guy. And in the middle of these few happenings a 10 yr old and his couple month old sibling got stuck in outr elevator for an hour

          Yeah so i got to deal with the TV guy the first time he came in. This guy is a major pain in the ass. He comes in haggles until they won't budge anymore and then leaves and comes back later hoping someone else will lower the price even further. He does this ALL THE TIME. It doesn't matter what he's buying. He tryed to haggle over the price of soup i shit you not. 66 cent soup! Anyway i used to deal with him and try to give him a good deal without bothering managment because it's quicker but after dealing with him a few times i realize that he will never just pay for anything so now i just call managment and let them deal with it (mostly because unless my direct boss is in, no other manager will give him a good deal because they don't really know what electronics are worth

          So anyway he had come in 2 days earlier and haggled with me for about an hour and of course i just sat there not even trying to fake being happy because well he's a moron. If he complains not one manager would care because they will have all dealt with him before he left so they're just going to comend me for not slugging him. After he asks me for a deal i just keep giving him the started discount that I'm actually athorized to give no matter how much he bitches or how many problems he finds( I actually would have given him half off if i thought that it would get rid of him because it was an old display that had been on for a year so it was only worth about what he paid for it). He eventually got me to call a manager and they offered him 100 dollars off even after I told them all about it being a display and everything. So he keeps arguing with me and i don't smile or even show any interest in his complaints or concerns and after an hour or two of arguing with me(wich was him haggling and me saying about 300 time "I dont' set the prices")

          So he then came back at about 10 am two days later and starts talking to me again about it. So after another half hour of "Can't you give me a better deal" and me responding "I don't set the prices", he asks me to call my manager again. Now I was going to call the exact same manager that told him 100 dollars off before but unfortunaltly, the boss that actually knows electronics came by stepped in. So know I have a full day of dealing with this moron. He was told that there was no remote and $450 dollars at about 11:30 am. He then asked us to put in on hold and contiued to come back and ask for a free remote and a better discount untill he actually bought it at 8 pm. That was 6 trips back and forth, 5 different electronic employees and 4 different managers all to get the exact same deal. He asked every single employee that walked buy if they could find him a remote and if they couldn't if they couldn't if he could get a better discount. Well it wasn't every employee, it was every male employee. He was actually a complete Ass to the Lady who works in there with me. Wouldn't even talk to her only told her to "Call a man". He was so lucky that I never talked to him again because I swear I would have told him to shut the hell up after talking to her like that.

          Anyway I know it's long, but he was so damn annoying and I hope to god tha he comes in and trys something like it again because I will make sure he never comes back.
