The accent, I'm sorry, is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Just *thinking* about that accent gives me the heebie jeebies.

Shame, I thought it was pretty good.
I didn't dislike the movie because of content, I disliked it because it tricked me.

          But There Are RULES!

I have never, EVER said "aboot." I pronounce it very clearly "ab-ow-t." "ow" like "that hurt." I do not know anyone who says "aboot." I'm pretty sure it's just a central Canada thing.
Has to be cuz I also never heard aboot other than on the Just for Laughs festival when american stand up comics make fun of us.
Now would be a good time to visit So Very Unofficial!

Cat: You're right. We're Nuts! This is an insane conversation....
Lister: She'll never leave Fred and we know it.

Central Canada? Pfft. Saskatchewanite here, born and bred, with family all over both Alberta and Manitoba, and I've never once heard "aboot". I've never, ever heard that term used in anything but satire. Although we do have "bunnyhug", which is even weirder.

Ontario here and I heard aboot for the first time on Saturday - and the person was saying it as a joke about people in Sask.

I've heard "aboot". She was from somewhere in Virginia, on the coast, I think.

It's been about ten years or so, so I don't remember.
