Card declined

Y'know, like quite a few people my card was declined once.

Did I rant andscream like a petulant child? Did I throw a tantrum?

No.

I asked the store to hold the sale for half an hour, went to my bank and withdrew the cash. The bank software saw that the sale was out of charachter for my spending patterns and wouldn't allow me to proceed, considering what I was procuring I was rather glad about that!

Where I work we have three different messages that will appear if a card didn't go through. For debit we have invalid pin if someone put in the wrong pin number.

If the message that come up is external authorization the card will go through if you run it again.

The final one we have is contact issuer, which is what we get if the card is declined for any reason

He did...reluctantly.

He probably knew this prior to checking it. Maybe he thought if he put up enough of a fuss, you'd compensate him for his 'inconvenience'.
