I'd still call in regardless if she hit you or not. Even if she did not hit you if she has that many anger issues whats to stop her from doing to someone else but actually hitting them instead. Being hit by a car is not fun. My aunt was hit by a car (not on purppose and she is ok) and she said the pain is terrible thing to go through. I would still file that report. Did someone get her license plate number?

Call the police, get her taken in for dangerous driving. You might be able to get attempted assault with a deadly waepon to stick but it might take some doing.

Video was passed on to the police; not sure if anything can be done, but at the very least she'll have a scare from the police coming round her place and giving her a telling off. Since she didn't actually hurt me and it was pitch black, she could counter by claiming she didn't see me or it was accidental, despite the fact that I was wearing an orange highvis so she would have to be blind not to see me. -.- In any case, I doubt I'll see her again at the petrol station after that.

Oh boy, there's more of these Drivers around!?

At the mall I used to work as security at we sometimes directed traffic. Sometimes the traffic was only allowed to make right-or-left turns onto the main road. But did the cars want to go the way they had to (and that the City was requiring us to make them) go? No! They would pull-out of the line and slowly inch-up by the security officer directing, determined to go the opposite way (which is where he/she would be positioned to prevent people from turning that way). How did they make their demands known? By NUDGING your leg with the bumper of their car! Granted, they're basically inching-up, but they have no way of judging how hard their car is hitting you. They don't know if the officer has a bad knee, or maybe an artificial leg! They felt it was a perfectly ok way to get your attention. One of my coworkers had this happen several times, and every time we encouraged him to call the police for vehicular assult! Another coworker was actually the victim of a hit-and-run in the parking lot; the car really took-off when they saw his uniform, bet they figured they had hit a police officer!

Hitting someone with your car is not the answer!

Its letting people like that get away with it that allows them the opportunity to hurt somebody else next time. You've just allowed her the chance to run down someone else by not throwing her ass in jail. Maybe you were scared about the paperwork?

Anyway, I have already said that the video has been passed on to the police, however it's extremely unlikely (unless the BOW makes a habit of trying to run people over) that she will be charged, or if charged, she will end up in jail. If she claims that she didn't see me or whatever, she may just end up with a slap on the wrist as cases only ever end up in court when the CPS consider them worth the time and money to get them there. It sucks, but there it is. I have done all I can, so please don't pontificate to me about the chance of BOW running someone down, as the only person responsible for that is her. Thank you and goodnight.

                Ladies and Gents,

Lace has reported this to the Police, the legal aspect has now been discussed to the nth degree, let's now concentrate on the fact that the woman was rude/inconsiderate/etc/etc/etc.

ah, SCs and cars... not a good combo... when I worked in parking enforcement I had someone try to sideswipe me with their car... it wasn't even someone I had given a ticket to... they just didn't like people who wrote tickets... I quit that day.

Too bad BOW didn't hit a (non-human) speed bump on her journey through your lot. Curb checks can be a bitch.

And I kinda hope BOW graces your establishment with her glowing presence again. Especially if you're the one who gets to refuse her service.
A lion however, will only devour your corpse, whereas an SC is not sated until they have destroyed your soul. (Quote per infinitemonkies)

I think you're right that it's unlikely she'll actually be formally charged with this (unless she has other offenses similar or otherwise). But it's still good to know that it was reported, and that at the very least she's likely to have to have a conversation with the police.

I think that with people like that they really don't think they're doing anything wrong because they really don't think people doing certain jobs have any rights. It's kind of sad she's not likely to spend some months in prison but I think it's worth quite a lot that someone will actually tell her she behaved wrongly. It's going to be quite a shock to a SC world view that the police won't, say, arrest you for refusing to serve her.

Incidentally the test for dangerous driving etc. is all about what a reasonably competent driver would do. Saying she didn't see you might mean it's not (or can't be proved to be) assault or attempted assault (and no, assaults don't always have to involve physical contact) but a dangerous driving charge, or driving without due care and attention, could stick. It's why learners get held to the same standards legally - it's no defence that they have less experience. Of course even then it's likely to be a fine and some points on her license (and hopefully a big jump in insurance costs).

If she's already got enough points this could be the straw that, er, loses a SC a license.

Yup, I was physically threatened and the Sc came behind the counter after me. Since he did not actually assault me, I was told nothing could be done. Despite video evidence of the incident. I intend to post this story after I get over the Ptsd.
                        who says you can't prosecute?
if it's your company... well ignore them. they cannot legally stop you from filing a police report. all they can do is refuse to hand over the tapes if the evidence is requested... and that can be quite illegal.

Even if sh is not ticketed, there will at the very least be a record of the incident, in case it happens again. It may well prove to be a regular thing, which will eventually catch up with her.
