I don't think Junior's begging the OP to sell his mom beer was an act. I think he is scared to death of his mom when she's 'frustrated', and he knew he was probably going to be the target of her wrath when they got home unless Mama got her 'medicine'.

Clearly, she isn't in line for 'Mother of the Year' - dragging her child out of the house at that unholy hour just speaks VOLUMES about her priorities.

I've dealt with all manner of threats, wheedling, pleading, 'logic', etc at cutoff time (see my recent post), and as a general rule the only ones that ever flew off the handle that badly at cutoff time were, shall we say, 'habitually inebriated'.

I'm betting that kid's life at home is just hell.

Haha, I was yelled at repeatedly for carding people and I was so used to "You're fucking kidding me!" and "Unbelievable!" and "No way!"......and if I had a nickle for every time someone threw their ID at my face and yelled "You BETTER not forget me!" I'd have retired at age 20.

Not really. He never actually saw the lady do anything. CPS in most areas is so overworked that unless there's a specific observed complaint, or physical evidence (bruising, for example), it goes in the file of "To be investigated some time after the next ice age." They don't have the resources to do better.
