Is this rim unrolling contest some crazy non-USA thing?
It's a Tim Horton's thing. Apparently there are some locations in the US, though that isn't their dominant market.

Very few in the US, and mostly around the Canadalandian border, if what I understand is right. Of magnificent note, however, is that they're starting to make inroads into the UK.

I can get my fix over here! Huzzah!

Any Tim Horton's in more civilized and heavier populated areas in Wisconsin, Irv Bella Becks or Katt?

          Color tabs

Dude I am SOOOo going to Tim's now! There's one kinda-ish down the road from me.

hmmmm you know i do usually need a snack during my night class. Maybe some Tim's goodness will come in handy...

and after reading all of your post... i'll be nice to the Tim-people and not use my mouth. ... wasn't thinking of that anyway but now i'll be extra sure not to do that.

and pfft. who orders small coffee? There's only 2 sizes... Large and give-me-the-whole-pot

          Edit: Drat.
          1) It's not a real (full) Tim Hortons - just some automatic coffee machines
          2) Please Play again no new carsz0rz for me!

Nope...but I don't consider GB to be civilized, anyways.

            I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.

I do agree that it is a bit icky to consider that the cups held coffee, and pieces of them are being torn to be redeemed for prizes, but when people are drinking out of the cups, there is usually a little plastic lid, so the person's mouth really doesn't technically touch the part that gets redeemed, unless they use their teeth to roll it up.

It seems gross to think that people might use their teeth, but I admit, that's what I do. My fingers just aren't strong enough to roll it.
I don't intend to stop doing that, and I make no apologies for it.
I rarely win anyway, and if I do, it's usually just a muffin, or the very occasional free coffee. I rarely bother to redeem them, but if I did, I would just rinse the piece off and dry it before I redeemed it.
Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.

When roll up the rims going on I use my teeth to roll it up because it's friggin impossible other wise! (for me anyways and for some of my friends).

but... don't worry no timmies employees have had to handle it as i haven't even won a god damn muffin (odds of winning 1 in 9 my ass lol).

But yea my gf works @ Timmies too and she says every year when they run out of prize cups in *insert size here* (which happens every single year because I guess her paticular store NEVER orders enough cups) people FREAK OUT and start going nuts that THEIR paticular coffee size isn't gonna have a chance to win.
Common sense... So rare it's a goddamn superpower.

                  nope

not much civilization here either now that I think about it.....I'd prefer cows, at least they don't try to talk you to death.......

I actually prefer the local/independent coffee shops-we have tons of those
Dammit now I want either a grasshopper mocha from Michaelangelos, or a tuxedo mocha from the escape, or a vegan cupcake-muffin thingy from Mother fools....and it's pouring down rain
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

I've never had to use my teeth on a roll-up rim. I keep a box cutter with me at work, or I'm near a pair of scissors when I'm not at work... Just two little cuts on either side of where the tab is and it rolls up just fine.

This year, I've noticed the employees asking the customer to remove the tab from the cup, due to "health code violations" or something.

I've one within walking distance here in Ohio-land. Shame is, that its wasted on me, as I dislike the taste of coffee.

I think the closest is Detroit. I've never heard of a Tim Horton's, not until I joined this board. All I know is that for the last 7 years I've had donut-shop withdrawl. Wisconsin doesn't seem to believe in those, while CA has a donut shop in every mini-mall.

I don't like coffee, but I can assure you that their hot chocolate is gooooood with a capital ooooo.
