This is not unlike the classic scenario of women asking guys about other guys, basically being oblivious to the askee's existence as a guy, no matter how awesome the askee may, in fact, be.
When that happened, I'd just say "I don't find him attractive", and leave it at that. I never got asked that question by the same person twice.
