That customer sounds like a real annoyance, and with her son getting in on it too, good grief! Your manager should tell her she's not welcome anymore.

We have a really great Subway here, they load the toppings onto the bread so you feel like you get your money's worth. The other two in the area are so skimpy on the toppings. We get Subway sandwiches quite often. There have only been two times I've been upset. I love black olives on my sandwich, lots and lots of black olives and one time they were out. I didn't throw a temper tantrum though or anything like that. Was just...disappointed is all. But not that big of a deal.

The other time I was upset was when we got there at 9:55 and she said she was closed (she was almost finished ringing up a guy with his sandwich). The sign on the door said they closed at 10:00. I wanted to argue with her that it wasn't 10:00 yet, but I am not a confrontational person so we just left but really...if you're open until 10:00 then you shouldn't try to close early when you have a paying customer in front of you.

Son: I came up to here to find out what the problem is up here
Me: Our toaster oven is off for cleaning. I am sorry but we have to clean it once a week and that is orders from our big boss.
Son: Well that is my mother and she has had nothing but problems with this shift
Me: I am sorry she feels that way.
Coworker: Look not to be mean, I know that is your mother but every night she is in her looking for stuff to complain about in the morning.
Son: I am just warning you. I know my mother and theres no telling what she might do.
"Would you mind clarifying that a bit?"

If his mother is a credible threat to herself or to others, the police want to know and she'll probably get to talk to the nice psychs.

And frankly, if the son is genuinely warning you & genuinely thinks she is a threat, she NEEDS a psych evaluation.

I do agree that Subway attracts or causes customers to become retarded. Must be some force field at the door. My school has a subway on campus and t amazes me to see some one walk up to the counter point to the bard and say "foot long" then get confuses when the clerk need a little more info than that. These peole will be the future teachers, managers, CEO, etc,...

if she's a threat, as junior implies, then it's time for a ban and a police report to be filed. no need to put up with someone whose head is so far up their backsides that they'll threaten harm over something unimportant.
          look! it's ghengis khan!
Sorry, but while I can do many things, extracting heads from anuses isn't one of them. (so sayeth the irv)

I received death threats too. Over a service which costs at the most $2.40. Once the guy just screamed at me "I'm gonna kill you you f**king b****" after I told him we didn't have the listing he wanted and I hung up in his face because I was just so pissed off. Other time a woman told me "If you don't find this I'm gonna kill you" in a completely normal tone.
            "I'm sorry, you would what?"
            "Squeeze you. *faint giggle*"

DEATH THREATS THAT COULD SEND YOU TO PRISON IS NOT SOMETHING TO LAUGH ABOUT, YOU HAG!

and I do my best to be a good customer at Subway even when I'm... not exactly in my normal state of mind.
