That's what my parents said to me as well, when I was a waitress/hostess and I noticed that elderly people tended to take all of the jellies and butters and creamers.........pretty much anything that wasn't bolted down to the table!

I don't think it excuses stealing, either. It was a huge pet peeve of mine at BOTH restaurants having to constantly refill the jellies and butters and creamers because all the blue hairs stuffed them in their purses.

So...if the economy ever gets so bad it does go into a depression, are we going to start seeing the same thievery out of members of our own generation?

At least I promise you won't see it out of me.

Irv, I'm pretty convinced this time around that if it gets to the point where people are beating up/killing each other over food at the grocery store, the government will turn us all into zombies and they themselves will hide underground until we're all dead....then start all over again fresh.

My grandmother lived through the depression, but used to be just as appalled as we are by some of her cronies who would take everything not bolted to the table.
