MAN: *shocked look* oh, so you're a freshman huh? Think you'll finish?

I would have stopped right there and looked at him with pity and asked as passive aggressively as I could "Have I done something to merit this condescension from you?"

We're not idiots just because we sell you things!

I was tinkering in the guts of a POS one day and SC comes up to the counter and leans in and says "Better put that back together before they find out you broke it - the boss'll be mad." COULD have told him that "boss" ASKED me to fix it because our service guy had a three state area and often took days to get to us but instead I looked up and said "It used to make him nervous, but once he found out I graduated cum laude for my Comp Sci degree he's gotten a lot mellower....."

I usually just feel sorry for this sort of SC though because the basis for their remarks is usually that they didn't/can't imagine working and going to school and doing both successfully, and I think it was a good challenge in my life that made me a much better person.
