The phone inside the booth rings. I look up & see a car at the exit gate.
me: "Visitor Parking booth. How may I help you?"
student: "Yeah...I need to get out of here & the gate will not go up."
me: "I'm sorry, but the sign in front of the ticket machine states $5.00 per car, & so you have to pay for your parking."
student: "Well...*then she said something I could barely hear*; then she said "I only parked for 20 minutes" *then she said something I could barely hear. I had a feeling she was a student. Plus she parked for more than 20 minutes.*
me: "I'm sorry"
student: "Whatever" *with an attitude* "So where do I pay at?"
I tell her where to pay at.
She backs up.
*Hey student, I do not care how long you parked. You still have to pay for your parking.*
