I've often wondered if his posts are verbatim or if they are paraphrased. Either way, they make me giggle. And I always, always hear "Dave" in a certain computer-voice.

Do ALL the sucky guests address you by name?

I know at my store that if the caller starts using my name the call is going to be:

1. Bitching about something really inane (Actual call today: Your employee told me lilac was popular this spring! Why should lilac eyeshadow popular? I'm too old to wear lilac so why would they say that!?" )

2. Rants about our website (which we at the store have nothing to do with)

3. Someone trying to trap me into saying something so they can show up in a few days and tell the cashier that "Amanda said I could do this...." or "Amanda said it would only be $X.XX" Especially hilarious if I'm stuck ringing that day. You'd think our "best customers" would notice I'm always there on the weekends.

That's what I think of when I read Dave's posts.
