It has been a long night and I still have 3 hours to go.
Earlier a lady came into the hospital. I'm not sure where she came in at because she bumped into Maintenance first and they brought her to the Emergency Room.
So she shows up at the E.R. asking to be admitted to the Psych Ward. They told her they don't admit people her age only senior citizens, and she definitely wasn't. They asked how she got to the E.R. and she claimed another hospital sent her to us. Which was a lie because the other hospital is way bigger and would've been able to handle anything, where as we're limited to what we can do.
An hour later E.R. call me, saying she's been discharged and needs to leave. She's kicked back watching tv eating a snack and drinking milk. I tell her she's been discharged and needs to leave. She refuses saying she has no shoes and her feet hurt. I say it's not my problem and either I escort her or the Police do.
She just sits there so I pull out my cell and start dialing, then she gets up and follows me. We go to turn and she intentionally turns down the wrong hallway and walks to the end of it. I stand there for a minute and she comes over to where I'm at and sees the portable toilets that are sitting in the hallway and says she's going to use it. I tell her she can't use those and redirect her to the bathroom.
It was obvious she was just stalling to stay longer so I called the Police, they came and shooed her away. She saw me watching from my Office and starts mouthing some choice words, flipping me off, and gesturing me to come outside but leaves.
10-15 minutes later I get a call from the Operator saying she needs me NOW! I already know what's going on. The lady is standing outside our locked entrance with a broom and dustpan. I have no idea where she found them. She's alternately banging on the doors and windows trying to get in, and then stops an acts like she's sweeping up. She also made menacing getures towards myself and the Operator and she was right beside the Operator's car so I called the Police AGAIN. Then I go and warn the other employees to stay inside since she was by an area a lot of people go, and by the time that was done the cops were there.
Just as I'm getting there, I see her take a swing at one of the Officers with the broom, and he promptly cuffs her and puts her in the car. They go to pat her down and check her pockets, and she had a thick stack of money so I don't know why she wanted to hang around the hospital when she could've found a hotel or something.
I gave them all my info and they are pressing charges, and I might have to go to court as a witness. Now I have a ton of paperwork to write up and file.
