so i haven't had any 'gems' lately, but today i got one...sorta
wasn't my customer but i got called up for help.
my CW, A, had rung up this lady and her son. and she wanted to pay debit. A, hits the charge button (which goes for either credit or debit) and from there the customer does their thing on their machine in front of them.
somehow it got to the point where it was about to go to credit.
then i get called up to see if i can fix it.
nope.
all any of us could do from the screen we had was press cancel. and that would just end the transaction and process it as a charge.
this woman wanted none of that "i will not pay interest!"
she puts the blame on us saying we don't know how to use our buttons on the register. honestly there was nothing i could do. and really, she mustve hit something wrong on her machine. my CW said the SC was hitting buttons on the screen and said "oops"
"in about 3 seconds im going to give it all up"
"isn't there anyone else who can figure this out, or is it only you"
"well this is the last time were shopping at <company>"
ok...so...you don't wanna pay interest i get it. but its not like you were paying a freakin million for you 40 something dollar purchase, and if you pay it back right away you have nothing to worry about. and good, go somewhere else and torture employees there, and maybe your kid will fall out of the carriage (the belt was barely restraining him)
