Today, a customer asked if I was open and I turned on my light, told him I was, and thanked him for coming into my line. The dialogue went something like this.
Customer: If you didn't want to take me, just say so.
Me: It's not a problem. I am happy to take you.
Customer: I come in here all the time. I don't need to be treated like this.
Me: I have no problem with taking you.
Customer: I hope you treat him (next customer) better. (leaves with groceries)
The next customer, who also shopped at the store quite a bit and knew my dad, mentioned that the previous customer must've had a bad day. He even told me that I gave good customer service.
