Just a quick question: does moving this square prevent any data from being stored to the disk? Didn't quite get how your actions may have messed him up...

The sliding square is the write protect tab on a 3½" disk. Open hole = disk is write protected, nothing can be saved to the disk.

Wally reminds me of Nathaniel in the movie Cabin Boy.

Wally, to the best of my knowledge, was removed from priviledges on the public labs and given a failing grade. Over the last few days I was visiting friends in the city, and Wally was indeed still there - but had mellowed in his old age. Apparently he is simply a permament student - and has applied for multiple staff and teaching positions, but has been universally turned down every single time.

Something about the conditions of his trust fund means that he gets money for school as long as he attends classes, so he figured that he could get the reduced rate if he was a staff member and get both cash for his work and for the tuition.

As far as the question regarding "talking to X about their attitude" it's Friday night, my incredibly sexy girlfriend is making pasta (who turned me on to this website as a horrendously long-lurker) and I fully intend to talk to her about her attitude on the couch later.
