Would an Xray also see something like a shard of a plate that's healed well under now?

I know it's there, hurts like the devil, but it didn't hurt at the time it happened so I foolishly thought it was ok. I've waited to get anything done since I didn't want to waste the money for a doc's appt only to be told they couldn't find it and couldn't do anything about it.
it depends what the material is.
metal shows up the best, basically clear as day.

glass (clear-ish glass anyways from say a drinking glass or bottle etc. is a little harder to spot on an xray.)

but in general if you've got a foreign object still IN your body it SHOULD show up on an xray. not to mention the settings on the xray machines can be changed to help show an object that normally wouldn't be visible (i.e. glass). (wont bore you w/the details).
Common sense... So rare it's a goddamn superpower.
