Normally I have a table in my front yard with some of my goods on it, and I have a few regulars that drop by to pick up items. For the most part, it's a good neighborhood, and when I leave the table unattended, the money left in the cash jar is almost always equal to the amount of goods taken (I've actually come out ahead more often than I've come up short).
A couple weeks ago, a regular brought her sister along, who oohed and aahed and asked many detailed questions, but didn't buy anything. Eh, no problem, but if you are going to waste that much of my time, you could at least spend a buck on one of the soaps.
This morning the sister came back. Not seeing the table in the yard, she came and rang my doorbell and pounded on my door.
1 - It's 6:30 am
2 - It's raining.
Now, I'm of the opinion if a stranger is pounding on my door at 6:30 in the morning, somebody better be bleeding and dying. Not just in need of two bars of lavender/rose soap with oatmeal that she could easily have bought last week. Heck, her sister is even someone I'll take a check from.
If she hadn't been so rude, I do have the 3-season porch is set up more or less like a storefront, and had it been say...11am and she asking nicely, I would have let her in even if it isn't really a store, just a storage area.
But...seriously, who thinks that's okay?
