I had the same thing happen to me several times while covering shifts in my bookstore's cafe -- we eventually realized that some store in the area must have been calling cappachinoes lattes and vice versa, b/c all the customers had the same story for why they got them confused.
It still happens on occasion, from what I hear. It's kind of funny, to me, that these people order something and don't even bother asking what it is.
