Guest: Dave, I went out to the beach in front of my condo and it's way too crowded and there is no space for me

Me: is there a spot further down the beach?

Guest: um yes there is but thats not the point. I didnt pay $7000 to have to walk 300 yards to get a spot on the beach

Me: well if there is no room where you are unfortunately, I cant do anything about it

Guest: so what did I pay you all this money for when you wont even attempt to help me. There are a bunch of people congregated around on my beach

Me: well ma'am I cant....

Guest: no you can, you just wont......you know what, you're very rude and inconsiderate....I cant believe you even allow these people to be at the beach in front of the house I've rented. That space should be reserved for me. Now I have to walk all that way with chairs and umbrella and 3 kids. Do you have any idea how inconvenient that is or do you even care? I expect a call from your manager, Dave. I deserve to be compensated for this. This is just so unfair.

She calls back 20 minutes later

Guest: Dave, why hasnt your manager called me back?

Me: she is not in her office

Guest: then whats her cell phone number?

Me: I cant give it out

Guest: Dave, you really know how to piss off a customer dont you. If she doesnt call me in 5 minutes, I am coming up there to get her and she is gonna regret that she didnt call me sooner.

She came up to the desk

Guest: where is the manager? Get her up here right now

Clerk: she isnt here

Me: then you better fucking find her and bring her to me

Have you seen the amount of crap some people bring to the beach. I've seen people bring tents, LARGE coolers, chairs, camp stoves, and an assload of toys. For a second I thought that they were getting ready to besiege Vienna, but then realized SoCal is too far for that,

I don't know what the law is in your state, but Rhode Islanders have a civil right (specifically outlined in our constitution) to beach access: no one can own a beach; all beaches are public property.

If your company does own the beach it sits on (i.e. it is a private beach), and the rental units are right on the beach, I could see how she might be upset if people were congregating on the land her rental unit was on; however, it doesn't give her the right to act like a self-entitled jerk.

wow every time I read your posts it makes me feel better about the dumb things I deal with, I just think throughout the day, well at least I don't have customers as entitled and stupid as Vacation rentals
