Last week I was walking through the tools department on my way to the office. You have two ways to go to the office--you can go through all the stockrooms or you can go through the tools/lawn and garden department. I chose the salesfloor that day because they were receiving a truck in the back.
So, I'm walking on through and I see this man standing in the middle of the main aisle and he looks really confused and very lost.
Me: Sir, can I help you?
SC: Yeah, I need to find *random, weird tool*
Me: Oh. Oooh, I'm not sure. Let me--
SC: THEN WHY ARE YOU HERE?!
Me: Er. I was walking through--
SC: You shouldn't be here if you don't work in this department.
Me: Ah. Let me find you a salesperson...
SC: Yeah and then you should go back to your own department so you don't confuse people!
Me: Yes, sir. Certainly.
I am still so confused. I think it's the last time I offer help to a customer, if...heaven forbid, I am not in my department.
Note: I used to work tools so I *do* know where the majority of things are. I just had no idea what the guy was needing, sadly.
