So at my job I'm by far the youngest Lead in the store, so perhaps guests think it'll be easier to get me to back down, but when I know the policy is pretty much inflexible on a certain point, I'm not going to bend, especially if you just act stupid right off the bat. On to the story....
So it was about 2 hours before closing last night, and I get called over to a register to address an issue, by the time I got there the "Lady" was already screaming at the cashier. Her problem? She had supposedly just bought the same item at our store across town for $4 dollars less and expected us to match.
First off, this item, a cloth pop out box, has never ever or would be that cheap, so strike one.
Secondly, if the price isn't advertised nationally, prices will vary store to store based on markets. So regaurdless of if they sold it to you al that price, we won't match it anyways, so strike two.
Thirdly, when asked for evidence in a receipt, she would magically change the subject to asking about another item's price. So strike three, you're out.
She went on to yell at me for 15 minutes, other guests everywhere, and I thought her head was going to explode. The lines, "This is bullshit" "I don't understand" "You're going to do it" and "I'll call them myself" made up the most of her words. In the end, she walked away without the items, I later called the other store for a price check, only to find they were the same price as ours! Yay for not caving
(I only wish I would've called them in front of her, to see what she did then, oh well...)
