    background: pizza place, answering phones

me: Thank you for calling, can I help you?
sc: Yeah, I want to know what's taking my pizza so long. I called at 2:00 and it's been over an hour!!!
    me: You called at two?
    sc: Yeah!
me: Well, it's 2:22 right now, so it's definitely not been an hour.
    sc: Are you sure?
me: Yeah, I got a clock right in front of me.
    sc: Oh. *hangs up*

Please not the customer was a lot angrier and aggressive than what I portrayed here.

SC time increases exponentially, instead of the one-minute-at-a-time, linear fashion the rest of us experience...

Ironic that this one crops up this weekend, since it's the one weekend of the year (but a day early - I'm posting this Sunday, and it says "Yesterday" for your post, and it was probably PM instead of AM) that such a complaint could be legitimate.

Officially, the switch from Daylight to Standard time takes place at 3AM, with the clocks being set back to 2AM, so if someone calls at 2AM (Daylight), then calls to complain at 2:22AM (Standard), it would have been over an hour.
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

The order was place 2AM on Friday Night/Saturday Morning, the night before daylight savings time. So that wasn't the issue.

Last night at work I figured out how to tell when customers placed their orders. (Everything's on the computer). I felt like I had a new superpower and was able to thwart many SCs. When some of them called and said "It's been like two hours" I was able to tell them "Well, you placed the order at X:XXam, it is now X:XX+0:30am, so it's only been a half hour. The awesomest thing about this is they never went sucky over my proof.
